MISSY MARAZZO BIO

Hi everyone, I am Missy Marazzo! I am 25 years old and I am from Wilmington, Delaware. I graduated from the University of Delaware in 2024 with a degree in Media Communications and worked as a Peer Lead during my time at UD. Shortly after graduating, I rejoined the team as the Director of Communications and was able to combine my passion for mental health advocacy with creative content creation.

With every reel, graphic, or post I publish, I have one goal. I want one person to see a post we make, and feel inspired to get help, to realize they aren’t alone, and to know these feelings will pass. When I was around 16, I started to really struggle with my mental health. Every small task felt like a mountain and my mind was running 80 miles a minute. I was diagnosed with depression, anxiety, and later ADHD. It wasn’t until I discovered videography and photography that I started to find purpose and motivation again. I was able to use all the negative things I was feeling and channel it into something positive and creative. From there, I decided I wanted to go to school to study media communications, and learn more about how to create content that I feel good about.

To me, recovery is acknowledging how much light I was able to find in my darkness, and knowing in times of darkness that I will see the light again. In my initial period of darkness, I thought the light would never turn back on. But now when I go through dark periods, I know the people and things that can show me where the light switch is, and help me turn it on.

When I am not at Sean’s House, you can find me in Trolley Square with my cat Chip, my 2 roommates, and their cats Queso & Winky. In my free time, I enjoy photography, reading (& listening to) books, thrift shopping, trying new arts & crafts projects, & spending time with my friends & family.
