Six years ago, we gathered on the beach with a simple goal: honor Sean’s light, spark conversations around mental health, and remind young people that they are never alone. On July 26, that light reached farther than ever before – and it’s all because of your local light.
$300,724 raised. 35 teams. 126 sponsors. 100 volunteers. One incredible community.
To our athletes and referees, thank you for bringing the energy, passion, and heart that make this event so special. Every point played and every connection made helped create an atmosphere unlike any other. To our sponsors, volunteers, board members, and supporters, thank you for believing in this mission and showing up year after year. Your generosity fuels our work and allows us to continue expanding our impact for young people across Delaware.
And this year, that impact is growing in a big way.
This fall, Sean’s House Sussex will open its doors, allowing us to bring free mental health support to young people in Sussex County 365 days a year. What started as a single day on the beach has become something much larger – a movement that is creating real, lasting change for young people and their families in Sussex County.
This weekend was about more than volleyball. It was about community. It was about hope. It was about showing young people that an entire community is standing beside them. Because of you, the light isn’t just shining – it’s spreading. From Newark to Sussex County. From one conversation to the next. From one young person to another. Thank you for helping us build a future where no young person has to face their darkest moments alone.
Love and Light,
The SL24 Team
